Last year, Yawar seemingly emerged from nowhere to demand attention and convey a powerful message of bronze resistance and reverence for the ways of old. The urgency of that release was palpable and driven by a breakneck delivery; the message was received loud and clear. While Yanantin retains the triumphant, determined tenacity of Yawar, it does so through a more varied and eloquent combination of mid- to fast-paced, riff-laden compositions that breathe new life into their potent breed of black metal ferocity. Where the speed and immediacy conveyed by the demo are intoxicating, the multifarious approach on this follow-up full-length is galvanizing and inspiring. Speed is still invoked when befitting, and yet here stretches of mid-paced melody take the wheel in a compelling and unique way that proves just as commanding. The melodies are novel and riveting, the rhythm is dominant and exacting, and here we see the vocals coming forward slightly and bellowing in a thunderous roar, commanding the metaphorical room. While, once again, sonic comparisons will be made to Totale Vernichtung/Rostorchester, Ukhu Pacha weilds their sonic palette in a more confident and remarkable way on this release. The progression shown on this release is conspicuous. With Yawar, Supay Yawar announced the arrival. With Yanantin, he declares an utterly ambitious resolve. "
